As the cancer grows, however, it begins to put more pressure on the urethra, and will then begin to cause a variety of symptoms especially affecting the lower urinary tract. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, <strong>more frequent urination (especially at night); pain or burning sensation while urinating; urinary retention (an inability to fully empty the bladder); difficulty in starting, maintaining, or stopping the urine stream; straining to urinate, etc.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> If left untreated, patients will have greater difficulty and more frequent urination, to the point that they may urinate blood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even if you don&#8217;t have any symptoms, it is better to do screening test regularly. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cancer.org\/cancer\/prostate-cancer\/detection-diagnosis-staging\/acs-recommendations.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> See the guideline for  screening here.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For screening package in KCC hospital,<a href=\"https:\/\/kccrc.org\/cancer-screening-nepal.html\"> please click here. <\/a><\/p>\n\n<\/div><div role=\"tabpanel\" class=\"wp-block-ub-tabbed-content-tab-content-wrap ub-hide\" id=\"ub-tabbed-content-b659b353-6f28-4c91-85c0-d65cbeb904c3-panel-1\" aria-labelledby=\"ub-tabbed-content-b659b353-6f28-4c91-85c0-d65cbeb904c3-tab-1\" tabindex=\"0\">\n\n<p>The stages of the cancer are determined by the location of the cancer cells, what parts of the body the cancer has spread to, and abnormal functioning of bodily organs. Knowledge of the stage of the cancer is important to treatment, as it helps the doctor with determining the most appropriate treatment.<br>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Prostate cancer is divided into 4 stages:<br><\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Stage 1<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 This is the beginning stage. Cancer is found in the prostate only and cancer cells have not yet spread.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Stage 2<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 The tumor has grown slightly larger, and is found in more than one-half of one lobe of the prostate or in both lobes, but has not spread beyond the prostate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Stage 3<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Cancer cells have spread and broken through the outer layer of the prostate gland and may have spread into the seminal vesicles (tubes that carry semen).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Stage 4<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Cancer cells have spread (metastasized) outside the prostate to other tissues, commonly including the bones and lymph nodes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n<\/div><div role=\"tabpanel\" class=\"wp-block-ub-tabbed-content-tab-content-wrap active\" id=\"ub-tabbed-content-b659b353-6f28-4c91-85c0-d65cbeb904c3-panel-2\" aria-labelledby=\"ub-tabbed-content-b659b353-6f28-4c91-85c0-d65cbeb904c3-tab-2\" tabindex=\"0\">\n\n<p><strong>Treatment of Prostate Cancer<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/kccrc.org\/radiotherapy-treatment-cancer-nepal.html\"><strong>Radiation Therapy\u00a0\u2013<\/strong><\/a> This includes both\u00a0<em>brachytherapy<\/em>\u00a0(internal radiation) and\u00a0<em>external beam radiation<\/em>. The type of radiation therapy used depends on whether the level of the prostate cancer is low-risk, intermediate-risk, or high-risk.<\/li><li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/kccrc.org\/chemotherapy-treatment-kcc-nepal.html\">Chemotherapy<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bumrungrad.com\/th\/horizon-cancer-treatment-center-chemotherapy-bangkok-thailand\/chemo-therapy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00a0<\/a>\u2013<\/strong> Improved treatment results are currently being seen with chemotherapy if disease has spread to different part of body.<\/li><li><strong>Hormone Therapy \u2013<\/strong><em>\u00a0<\/em>This is often used as an additional treatment after radiotherapy or in cases where the cancer is in a metastatic<em>\u00a0<\/em>stage. With this treatment, the physician will try to reduce or stop the body from producing the male hormone testosterone through medication<\/li><li>Surgery- This treatment is especially useful for early stage disease.<\/li><li>Active surveillance: For very low risk disease, only regular surveillance is good enough.
