That\u2019s equivalent to one third of population of Nepal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Right to health<\/strong>&nbsp;Half of the world\u2019s population lacks access to the full range of essential health services and many are denied basic cancer care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Why is it so?<\/strong>&nbsp;Due to differences in income and education levels, geographical location, and discrimination based on ethnicity, race, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cancer care &amp; Right to Life<\/strong>&nbsp;There are now 19.3 million new cases of cancer in a year. Yet 30-50% of all cancers are preventable. Reduce the risks of cancer with healthier behaviours, regular screening, earlier detection and timely treatment of pre-cancers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-style-default is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>There are around 26 thousand new cancer cases in Nepal every year and many of them can be prevented.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>2022: Realising the problem<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Theme for 2022- 2024 World Cancer Day Event is Close the care gap.Everyone deserves access to cancer care.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The first year of the \u2018Close the Care Gap\u2019 campaign is all about understanding and recognising the inequities in cancer care around the globe. It\u2019s about having an open mind, challenging assumptions and looking at the hard facts:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Inequity in cancer care costs lives.<\/strong>&nbsp;People who seek cancer care hit barriers at every turn. Income, education, location and discrimination based on ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability and lifestyle are just a few of the factors that can negatively affect care. The gap affects everyone, including you and your loved ones. These barriers are not set in stone.
