The KCC Tumor Board

Your case is reviewed by a team — not just one doctor

Every cancer case at KCC is discussed at a multidisciplinary tumor board before treatment begins. This is the global standard of care — and it is what separates a specialist cancer centre from a general hospital.

Surgical Oncologist

Plans the surgery — type, timing, margins, reconstruction

Medical Oncologist

Chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy protocols

Radiation Oncologist

Radiotherapy planning, brachytherapy, IMRT/VMAT

Pathologist

Reviews biopsy, molecular subtype, resection margins

Radiologist / IR

Imaging review, image-guided biopsy, ablation planning

What this means for you: Before any treatment at KCC, your case is reviewed by all five specialists together. You get the benefit of five expert opinions — not just one. This is how the best cancer centres in the world work, and it is how KCC works too.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

For most cancers, you do not need to go to India. KCC Nepal was founded by specialists trained at AIIMS, Tata Memorial, and PGI — India's premier cancer institutes. They brought those same protocols, techniques, and standards back to Nepal. KCC offers surgery, radiotherapy, brachytherapy, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and interventional radiology. Call 01-5091629 to confirm whether your specific treatment is available here.
Step 1: WhatsApp your diagnosis or reports to +977-9818-226237, or call 01-5091629. Step 2: A KCC coordinator will schedule you with the right specialist (same week in most cases). Step 3: At your consultation, the doctor will review your case and, if needed, refer it to the tumor board. Step 4: A treatment plan is confirmed and treatment begins. You do not need a referral from another doctor to come to KCC.
A tumor board means your case is reviewed by multiple specialists — surgeon, medical oncologist, radiation oncologist, pathologist, and radiologist — together in one meeting. They discuss your case, review your scans and biopsy, and agree on the best treatment plan for you. This prevents any single doctor from making a decision in isolation. It is the international gold standard for cancer treatment, and it is how KCC operates for every patient.
Yes. KCC regularly continues treatment plans started at other hospitals in India or Nepal. Bring your discharge summary, treatment records, and any remaining chemotherapy or radiotherapy details. KCC can continue the same protocol or, if preferred, review it through the tumor board.
