Kathmandu Cancer Center was founded by Nepal's oncology specialists to end the need for Nepali patients to seek cancer treatment abroad. Today, we offer the country's most advanced, complete cancer care — for every patient, from every district.
Our Purpose
For years, Nepali patients with cancer faced an difficult choice- travel to India or a distant country for treatment, or go without. A group of Nepal's senior oncologists — trained at AIIMS, Tata Memorial, PGI, and leading International institutions — decided to change that.
In 2015, Kathmandu Cancer Center opened as Nepal's first private hospital to offer complete cancer treatment including, precision radiotherapy using a Linear Accelerator. The founding principle was straightforward: every Nepali deserves access to world-class cancer care - without crossing a border.
Today, KCC is a full-spectrum cancer centre. Patients from all 77 districts of Nepal receive treatment here. Complex cases are reviewed at our weekly multidisciplinary tumour board. All protocols international guidelines like NCCN and ESMO guidelines.

Kathmandu Cancer Center introduced Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) to Nepal's private sector in 2015 - the precision radiotherapy technique that shapes radiation dose around tumours to spare healthy tissue.
KCC established Nepal's first image-guided brachytherapy programme in 2022, enabling high-precision HDR brachytherapy for cervical, head and neck, skin, and gynaecological cancers — guided by real-time imaging rather than anatomy alone.
Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy is among the most advanced cancer immunotherapies available globally. KCC introduced this to Nepal — bringing cellular immunotherapy within reach of Nepali patients.
KCC runs Nepal's first oncofertility clinic — counselling and fertility preservation for cancer patients of reproductive age before treatment begins. Ensuring that surviving cancer does not mean sacrificing the possibility of family.
Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC) - a specialised surgical procedure for peritoneal cancers was introduced at KCC as programme of its kind, offering a curative option for previously inoperable cases.
Every complex or ambiguous case at KCC is reviewed by a multidisciplinary tumour board: medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, surgical oncologists, radiologists, and pathologists deliberating together before a plan is made.
